How we work on a typical divorce financial services case

1

You get in touch

If you phone, a Certified Divorce Financial Analyst® professional will usually be able to talk to you there and then. Otherwise, we will give you a call back as soon as possible, usually on the same day. You can also fill out the form below and we will reach out to you, usually on the same day.

2

Initial discussion

We will discuss the issue in a phone call to see whether we can help you. This will not take long, and there is no obligation on your part to employ our services, but we can NOT give financial divorce advice until you become a client.

3

Follow up

After the initial chat, we will let you know whether you would benefit from a consultation with us as a client.

4

Our proposal

The next step is for us to send you our client care documents. These will confirm our charges in writing and explain exactly where you stand with us and how we will work with you. The client care documents will include our contract, disclosures, and services, with estimated charges.

5

Engaging us

Once you agree to our client care documents, we will start work. This usually involves a review of your documents and an initial meeting with you to give you practical guidance about next steps.

6

Step-by-step Guidance

We will be giving you step-by-step guidance through your divorce financial settlement, answering the “What-if” questions to your life’s biggest financial decisions.

  • No Overcharges

Plan Description

Many of our clients prefer us to work on an hourly basis. For this type of service, our standard retainer applies. Our hourly rate is charged against your retainer as we go. As your case progresses, we will keep you informed of any unexpected changes so that there are no unexpected fees.

*This is the per hour rate for consultation analysis and preparation. Hourly rate varies for administration, travel, court, arbitration, and hearing time.

Great for high asset cases

  • Starting at $3,000**

Plan Description

We also have a fixed fee option for the work we do. This works well for cases that are more complex with high-asset divorces. We’ll take into account the likelihood of additional and unexpected work and give you a fixed cost.

**This is the starting flat fee for services. Flat fee service is based on total assets in settlement and any requested add-on work.
